Hopefully these pics will help ya'll help me figure out what he is!

I think so too, after looking at pics online the other day, can we put the "wild turkey" thing to rest in my house? Is he definatly not a tamed wild turkey?

OK, so we've nailed down the breed, but the sex is up in the air....Could I be so lucky? Cause I think I'd prefer a hen...ahh! I wish ya'll could come see him in person! He (she?) is such a mystery!

What a great natured bird, though. My ladies are jelous he's getting all the attention. But he is so neat! I'm so glad he adopted us!!!

Yep, with the better pics, and the nature of it, I'd say hen, next time you catch it, feel around in the breats area, right in the center, you're looking for a beard nub, at this age, it should already have a beard, or jake nub at least, if you dont feel a knot of thick stubby hairs it's a hen for sure, you'll be looking right in the center of the breast just below where the neck and breast meet. wont be hard to find if she's got one...

There are some beard hairs sticking out there, I noticed them yesterday and so had DH. So jake then? I guess hens don't have a beard?

Yep I have 2 of my rio grande wild hens with 5 inch beards, but thats the exception, not the rule. This one just sure looks girlish, something about the head??
