We have 5 turkeys, about 7 weeks old. Three of them are very sick with what appears to be a respiratory infection, two have minor symptoms. We've separated the mildly sick from the very sick.

Symptoms: sneezing, particularly when they were let out of the brooder into the sunshine. It was almost constant sneezing, going on for several minutes and gradually reducing but not stopping. Thin, clear snot at times. Some normal poops, some green and very wet with froth (noticed after medication began). Mouth breathing. Hunched posture. Mild shivering.

We're on our third day of Tylan and there has been no improvement. Symptoms are worsening, if anything.

Medicated game bird feed, fresh clean water at all times.

At night they still have two 100W light bulbs in their outdoor brooder, when it was warm they were let out to enjoy the sunshine and did not seem to be chilled.

We have changed the bedding in the brooder to exclude some recently chipped wood from a felled tree, thinking perhaps mold spores were involved. (We think this may be the culprit but are not sure.)

If the Tylan doesn't kick in in the next day, I'm afraid we'll have to cull them to protect the chickens we have from exposure. Since we don't know what the problem is, we need to err on the side of caution because this could be communicable.

Is there anything else we can try?

Unfortunately, if there is anything more you can do, I can't think of it. I am sorry.
