HELP? Two day old chick has a drinking problem

One of my two day old chicks is not drinking as easily as the others. She scoops up the water and throws her head back and then stays that way for twice to three times as long as the others. So long that she is falling alseep mid drink! How do I know she is getting enough water?

I noticed this on one of mine too and it was a little smaller than the others. 3 weeks later he/she is still around and drinking/growing just fine.

as long as she is swallowing the water it should be fine.. i have a little 2 day that does it too.. but when she wants a drink she goes at it again.. sometimes she throws her head back so far she stumbles backwards.. she is adorable.. she seems fine.. i was worried at first.. she is a tiny fuzzy foot light grey thing and seem slower than the others.. so we dipped and put little drops on her beak.. she seems fine on her own now

Oh, I thought you meant a drinking problem--like alcohol!

I agree that as long as she is getting fluids and eating enough it should be OK. Maybe she likes how it feels going down her esophagus??

I am glad there are some sensible suggestions on here, but in response to the thread title, i would suggest a spell in clean and sover living or some other 10 step program!
