I am sorry for the loss!A tech from the NJ state animal lab came to my house today and picked up Millie’s body. She also swabbed all of the rest of the chickens to rule out any kind of avian flu (she said all the rest show no symptoms so she doubts that as a cause. I should get the results tomorTrow.

The predation after death, no blood. (Too much "True Crime") I have had predation, hawk, Fox, probably racoon and rats... possibly weasel type vermin. This is over a decade of keeping. Electric Fence is the best, but sometimes things happen, all my fault

Rats rip. Lost Quail in the garage! Hawk, just cover with twine etc. during the season. Owls, same, keep up top covered/twine etc. Fox def leave blood. Coon also. (If bodies are left)
Possum? Would def eat a body, but really, I have possums, feed and encourage them here. They aren't an issue that everyone says. They might eat, but you said coop is tight? They aren't that industrious, like a coon, they wouldn't bother.
It's a mystery. Please update with findings?
