I had one baby keet survive a difficult hatch under two different chickens with incubation interruption. Long story, but it's a miracle he survived. I had to assist with the hatch. His yolk sac fully absorbed, and I used tiny bit betadine on the irritated looking navel. He is very small although he eats and drinks well. Have him on game starter. He's with 3 buff orpington chicks so he would not be alone. Every day I have to clean pasty butt which seems to get stuck from the enlarged, hard navel area. It's a dark, bruised looking scab. Since this is lingering should I give him a shot? We have just about everything from LA 200, Excede, penicillin. It's seems like it's a little bigger, but I'm not sure. He's two weeks old. Please let me know what to do for him. Thanks. I have put Nolvasan and betadine on it. I put betadine on right after he hatched. How long til they are out of the woods. He's not real active, never has been, but he pecks at bugs at night with heat lamp on him, eats and drinks. Not growing much. Kind of clumsy. Poor baby.
