HELP!!! Unexpected Addition

Sounds like the gosling maybe too young to be outside grazing Alone especially. Chick feed is fine just make sure as already mentioned non medicated. and a good container of water not for swimming in because you don't want it to chill but just deep enough it can wash its face and nares out.

Like was also mentioned having some Brewers yeast or nutritional yeast to sprinkle on it's feed will keep it from getting leg problems or neurological problems. ! Tablespoon to 1 cup of feed. just feeding the items you mentioned will not give it the nutritional vitamins it needs. Do not use baking yeast to supplement niacin needs.

I'm sorry mom isn't pleased with the money going for chick feed and supplies but when you have poultry you have to take care of them the best you can. which means providing food, secure housing etc.
It was very sweet of you to take in this gosling who would most likely have died if you hadn't.

If it is a wild Canada goose you could also check if you have a wild life rehabbers in your area, they are set up to care for and eventually release wild birds . This would most likely be the best option since mom isn't too keen on baby chicks and feed geese really eat quite a bit more than baby chicks. You want to do whats best for this gosling if you raise it most likely it won't be able to be released since it will be dependent on you for food and care so please consider finding a rehabilitation center

Please keep us updated on how it's going.

In addition, if it is a Wild Canadian Goose and you are in the United States, you MUST contact your local wildlife authority (usually a Dept of Fish and Game of some sort) and inform them. They may arrange to pick up the goose, have a wildlife sanctuary pick it up, or even request that you care for it until it can be released. Canadian Geese (wild ones) are protected by treaty with Canada and the UK.
