1 splash Australorp
4 new Hampshire
3 speckled Sussex
2 red cross

is what I was told these all were. Most of them I can see.. I'm assuming the black chickens in the photo are supposed to be the Sussex? I have doubts, so any idea what they could be? These were free chickens from someone who is unable to take them after moving (She'll be local so I told her just let me know and she can visit any time, she had them all named and everything).

Over all it's not a big deal whatever they are.. but I was just curious what they could be. From what I was told these are all duel purpose birds. She got them from a local breeder/farm. So I just assume they are all mixed breeds.. heh.

Not sure what the black ones are but definitely not Speckled Sussex.
That was my thought too, I feel bad as the lady paid for the breeds she listed off. I have no clue either. Maybe I can get some better photos today when they are awake again. They are all skittish and not friendly. :( Still young though, so I'm sure they'll warm up to where my flock is and understand I give treats. XD

It happens. I've gotten the wrong breed twice and that's from getting to the feed store within an hour of shipment arrival and a monitored chick area, so it's not like people were swapping birds around.

They'll warm up to you as they get used to their new home and get closer to point of lay.
