I have a 5 month old Favorelle pullet that has been showing signs of lethargy and not moving with the other 6 chickens that I have. I noticed her comb was hanging to one side and one of her eyes seemed to bulge. The next day I noticed she had a large knot on top of her head that was causing her comb to hang to the side and her eye to bulge. I am not sure what has happened to this chick as they are free range and it could be a number of things. I know that she has no signs of injury such as cuts, scrapes, holes or etc. The only antibiotic I have is Clavamox and that is what I have given her, though it has been a challenge to get her to take it and I haven't been getting enough in her. She will eat a little but drinking is little to none. I moved her inside where it is cool, which no doubt has gained her a day or two more. What would you suggest I do. She is trying to fight whatever it is but she is out of it. She tries to talk and just sounds drunk and she doesn't even walk. She only really moves and flaps around when I try to give her medicine. This is a chicken that is normally kinda mean and intolerant but she lets me pick her up without a fight. I am wondering if it is a sign of brain damage. Any suggestions would be good. These are the best pics I can get of it.

I don't want your post to go unanswered but, I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for you. She definitely looks ill. I hope someone comes along that can be of more help.

Since no one else seems to be jumping on board, I would suggest that you buy some Tylan 50. You can find it at Tractor Supply. It is an injectable medication but you can use it orally. You will need a needle and syringe to draw the medicine up. Then, just put it on some bread and they eat it right up. I've had to roll grape pieces in it, also, for one chicken that wouldn't eat the bread

Large fowl dosage is .5mls per day for 5 days
Bantam - .25mls per day for 5 days.

Does it feel squishy or hard? I'm wondering if it's something that could be lanced.
Could something have hit her on the head? Our black walnuts have started falling, and I dread having one get hit by that! It may not have left a cut.
