Help!! Urgent!!! *pics post 8*

Beth G. :

I've seen this happen when a rowdy roo sees a pullet getting ready aka POL and tries to mate and they are too rough causing damage to interal air passage ways. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing you can do I'm soo sorry if that is the cause. If you do not have a rooster is there anyway a dog or someone could have booted her or crushed her ribcage?

Alright thanks ill try that

I don't think so..I have a pug..And he doesn't mess with the girls because he knows hed get beaten up..And 1 roo, but hes too young...

I'm not sure that is what it is but, she sure does look and from what you are describing she sounds like she has a punctured lung or air passage way. I actually had this happen to a 1 yr old english orp hen last weekend. Three Juvie Roo's ganged up and over mated her bringing my poor girl to death

By the time I got to her, to save her it was way to late.

I hope she gets better

Beth G.- How can I tell if something is broken?

Unfortunately there really is no way to know. I did a necropsy afterwards on her b/c I wanted to be sure my theory was acurate for future reference and they actually fractured/broke her ribcage and the rib bone was like a razor blade and sliced her lung

If you mess with her too much it can cause more harm than good and if she does indeed have a fracture with the slightest push it could be bad

I think that if you can make her comfortable and see how she does for now. The only other thing I would do is put some vetrx on her nostrils and a drop in her mouth to help the vapors with breathing. Keep her in a dark, warm, quiet place and see what happens. Or if you feel this is a possibility I would say if she is suffering you consider humanely euth. her. But, that is only an opinion on my part.

So sorry for this.
