Hi All,

I know you guys are super busy so I'll keep this short and too the point. My name is Dani Meyer.

Yesterday I started a petition to our government about our rights to feed our family through gardening and raising productive pets (chickens, ducks, mini goats, etc) here: http://www.change.org/petitions/the...-to-grow-our-own-food-and-own-productive-pets

I'd really love for you to look at it and see if it is something you would like a) sign and b) share with your friends and family.

We are trying to go viral with it so we can really see some changes in this area and we'd love to have you on board. With enough pressure from the people of America SOMETHING will change. We may not get everything we are asking for but if the people stand together things can change!

Thanks!

Dani

Done. We should have the rights. I saw this on a newsletter from a hatchery that in 1918 the government was asking everyone to have at least two chickens per person to be more self sufficient. It is amazing how much our country has changed.

OP, I like what you're doing. I'm in the process of reading everything on your site. Thanks for the link!

I'm curious, is there public record of the number of families in any given community who receive assistance? I ask because I'm currently gathering information to take to my town in an attempt to change the way the ordinances are written. I think your point regarding assistance is valid and I couldn't agree with you more and I'd really like to be able to add some of this kind of statistic to my findings.

Thanks and GOOD LUCK!

It's a sad day in our history where it is more acceptable to receive government hand outs then it is to raise your own food. Unfortunately the people I know who use EBT card would find it a hassle to have a garden and a few chickens or such. And I think it's ridiculous that city's, counties, or HOA's prevent people from self sustainable living. I signed the petition.
