Help us pick breeds please

Getting ready to order more chicks for our mini farm. I've got five breeds on my list and need to narrow it down to three. UGH... I never thought this would be so hard!! I like them all. Cuckoo Marans are for sure being ordered. My SO wants chocolate colored eggs. The other three on the list are Black Jersey Giants, Barred Rock and Black Australorps. All of the breeds fit our needs and our climate. We're big on friendly and also good egg production. I'm thinking the Black Jersey Giants will make the short list so really need to decide between the BR and the BA.

that's a tough one. If you would really like cute friendly ones get BA. THEY ARE SO CUTE AND EXTREMELY NICE!

Thanks guys!! I need more input. Lol. More solid black birds or black n white barred type birds.... This shouldn't be this hard.

I would choose Black Australorps. They are awsome. I Barred Rocks are cool but not as nice as Black Australorps. Plus BA's are way better layers!

Agreed! Barred Rocks often are meen roosters too. So if you get a BR rooster you may get attacked.
