Hi,
One of my geese are very lethargic and isn’t eating (she is drinking). I have given her some tonic to aid digestion but she hasn’t eaten in 24-48 hours. Should I put some food in her beak?
I also saw she had lime green clear poop which I know is a sign of a digestive issue.
thank you x

Force feeding should be a last resort measure as the goose may choke. Consider using antibiotics for intestinal infections or a trip to a veterinarian if it can be afforded.

This is from a Google search on what antibiotics to use for geese:

In addition, a number of antibiotics when given intramuscularly have been shown to give good results. These include chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol and penicillin. Erythromycin in the water and both oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline in the feed have also been seen to be effective.

Hi @Letticethemagpieduck
I’m sorry to hear your goose have problems...

Is the vet an option?
is it possible to upload a picture of her? And of her poop?
does she have any nasal discharge/eye abnormalities too?

hello, thanks for replying!
My local vet is not open until tomorrow so I’m just trying to get her through the night at the moment. I tried getting a picture of her poop but it just gets absorbed into the ground as soon as it happens. It is lime green and only contains the smallest amount of solid. Her eyes are normal and she has no nasal discharge. She likes float on the pond and still drinks water. I have given her some verm-x in her water incase it’s a parasite issue and it hopefully gives her some vitamins.

Hello, where about can I get these? Is it just vet prescription? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow x
