Help. We have been invaded by fleas!!!! What to do

There is a home flea spray that works WONDERS. It is an IGR so it gets the eggs and adults, and continues to kill for a long while too. I like it way better than a fogger because I never understood the reason behind covering the walls, ceiling, curtains, hardwood furniture, etc in product. This is designed to spray upside down. You clean the house, then spray the carpet and everything else fabric from about 12" down. I always took the animals out of the house till it was good and dry - but I had a cat who was VERY sensitive to chemicals. It has almost no smell and the knockdown of adult fleas is immediate. If used along with topical, you shouldn't see another live flea the rest of the summer.
We used to sell it when I worked at a vet's office - but you can probably order it from just about any pet supply online store.

Thank you canesisters, where did you get this spray and how much? Thank you

I used to get it from my vet, but you can probably find it at any of the pet supply/vet supply web sites (jeffers, valley vet, fosters & smith, etc.)
The last time I used it was years ago and it was around $20/can.
My dogs came to work with me everyday (at the vet's office) and every spring I would suddenly find that my house had become infested. I'd spend a Saturday afternoon cleaning up, treat the house and carry everyone to the office for a bath. By the time I got back home, fleas would be gone for another year.

I have cats and in the past, come summer, one flea would get into the house and spread like a disease to the cats. The one thing I found better than anything, even the pesticides is Tea Tree Oil.

A few drops in the carpet, a little behind the pets ears, and the flees leave. They hate the stuff and will start to disappear. I dont know where they go and I dont care. They just go!

If you use it, make sure to use it especially where your pets bed down, fleas will nest in those areas and can be dormant for ages, despite the treatments of pesticides on your pet.

Good luck! Hope you are bale to get rid of your problem!

I love the natural aspect of Tea Tree Oil but might want to let family members smell it first to make sure that they can tolerate it. I seem to be sensitive to it and I since understand that quite a few people have adverse reactions.

It literally takes my breath away and it slams my head shut. I have that reaction if it is in hand lotion, shampoo, or sun screen so have I have to avoid tea tree oil in any and all forms. Would hate for someone to put it through their house and then a family member have a similar reaction.

I use this for my dogs it is the same raw ingredient that is in Comfortis in a Glycol suspension, the same as in cough syrup.. For a large dog i use about 1 ounce per large dog in the food. Then a mix a spray with 1 ounce to a gallon spray, dog and carpet bedding etc. Vacuum after it dries. Kills them from the bite and stops the cycle. We are dog sitting my daughters to dogs one had fleas two the point that hair was sparse from itching, dosed them all and hair is growing back with the fleas gone.

Good luck

PM me if you need some more details.

Personal experiance.. Use some medication on you'r dog (ask you'r vet) and then for your house and outside, use a flea trap.. You can get it at walmart.. Worked WONDERS for us and we tried EVERYTHING!! We had gotten desprate and tried even the most sillyiest of things.. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Springstar-Flea-Trap/17164797?findingMethod=rl It doesn't look like it will work, but we had the sticky pad FULL with houndreds/thousands of fleas in just 3 days!!..
