HELP! What’s wrong with my hen?

Well it looks good and healthy. Does she pull it back in when she is not straining when you are not around? After 5 days, she should soon start keeping it in, but I am sure she is wearing you both out. If you want to try to make her stop laying temporarily, you can keep her in the dark 16 out of every 24 hours including the nighttime. A covered crate, closet, or dark room in the garage, etc. would work. The 8 hours during the day, she can be out walking around, eating, and drinking. A more expensive option is to have a vet put a temporary stitch in her vent to hold it in. Keep up the good work. You’re doing a great job.
