(((Help-What BREED should I get???)))

And I would like some very good egg layers. I have had a hen laying eggs with double yolks every day, And I want a hen like her.

Check out Turkens/Naked Necks. They are definitely unusual but by far my favorite dual purpose bird. They have a very good feed to egg ratio and have very nice temperments. And lay very large, tan eggs and mine lay year round.

Where are you located? What are your weather extremes like?
For big birds and dual purpose, I really like the sussex breed, dorking and javas for meat and eggs too.

Just wanted to caution you that just as having twins is more dangerous to a human, having chicken that lays excessive double yolkers make her more prone to egg binding as the egg is much larger to accommodate that extra yolk.

Ok- SO I have narowed down to a few breeds there on Meyers. I have been thinking about
Marans
Welsummers
Sicilian Buttercups
Blue Laced Red Wyndotte
Campine
Salmon Favorolles
Golden Lakenvelders
Spangled Hamburgs.

I would like to narrow this down to only three. Can you guys help me on which three to keep on the list?? Just post three of your favorite breeds out of here and tell me why you like them. Thankyou!
