HELP!! What can I do

I have a 2 day old that I had to take from momma. She has what looks like a road rash under her wing. I'm guessing she was plucked by the other chicks. She's is acting slow and will not eat or drink. But she still makes a bit of a fuss. What can I do?

Clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide using a cotton ball or cotton swab, then swab some Blue Kote on the skin (I hope that's skin and not muscle showing) if you have any using as little as possible. It is messy, stains horribly anything it touches and takes a long time to dry. I know others have used other antibiotic creams but I wouldn't know what to recommend. I'd give her some Poly-Vi-Sol w/o iron if you have any too and a bit of dilute sugar water. I"m still learnig myself but these have all worked well for me thus far. Good luck with your poor baby

if I had nothing else in the house I would probably put some neosporin on it(the kind without pain relief as that can kill them). good luck

clean the booboo and try giving her vitamins

You can find the Blue Kote at any TSC or farm supply store, it may be in the large animal care section, its used on horses and cattle too.....it works wonders!!!!! Its a MUST HAVE! Good luck!
