So, my new ducklings are messy and that part is ok, however, I have a dilemma. I start my new job next week and my ducks go through at least 12 bottle fulls of water in a very short amount of time. If I give them water before I leave for work, and get home 8 hours later they will have no water at all by the time I get home. What can I do? Any and all comments will be much appreciated. Thanks.

"Why do they go through water like that?"

cottage cheese container (plastic), with an oval slice cut out of the lid. Plus a nice round rock in the bottom, should it get low and lighter before I refilled it. Later, I changed to a large Cool Whip container.

I had the same problem...I used the gallon milk jug with the holes . I also found this pic on another forum, and it looks like it would work well too.

what kind of waterer are you using now?
I am currently using a 1 quart chicken waterer. I did however, switch over to a 3 litre bottle today with a panel cut out like you had suggested that someone else came up with and it is working fine. They can only get their heads and beaks in but nothing else. Thanks so much for your suggestions and help.
