What an earth is this?!?!

Story:

We had red mites, house burnt, chickens de mited weekly for 6weeks. Wormed 4weeks ago. Lost some weight, last night roosting early, but does eat and seem ok, don't think she is laying, had a yucky underneath, but not to do with poo, have washed seems ok there.

Ask any questions as need to get to the bottom of this!!!!!

If it is in the middle of the lower back, then that is the preen or oil gland where chickens get oil to preen their feathers. Read this: http://chickens.wikia.com/wiki/Uropygial_gland

So back to the drawing board... What is wrong with y poorly chicken....

If your chicken is losing weight then it could be due to worms. Have you wormed the flock recently or noticed anything in the poops? If it is not worms then a change of feed could also affect them. I changed feed brands once and one of my girls started losing a lot of weight. She went to the bowl and started to eat, but stopped after a few seconds. She just hated the shinier smoother pellets! I changed back to the other brand and she started eating normally again!
Have you has any other changes in your feed / coop / flock recently?

Wormed about. 4weeks ago, feed hasn't changed. Nothing has changed
