HELP, What is wrong with baby chickens beak? BIG BUMP!

I was told by a professional that it appears to be Dry Fowl Pox, and will run its course in a few weeks time. Unfortunately no treatment is available. Does anyone have thoughts on that??
Interesting!! So, it IS a virus.
I was kinda close with it being a virus canker/herpes caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Now you know!
At least its not a Cancer like that reference given.
Thanks for the update.

I can’t remember all the details, but it seems I remember some “pox” treatments, but maybe that is for the wet kind, not the dry kind.
Pigeons are susceptible to viruses and canker too, and there is a liquid that helps dry it out and get rid of it faster, but not really a cure. I have no idea if it’s safe for chickens, but you might want to research it.

It could be fowl pox if they are being raised outside in a brooder, and there are a lot of mosquitoes present. I have seen many threads where chicks had these sort of bumps center beak that were thought be small cuts from sharp feeders or small papilloma viruses. The latter usually falls off in time. Fowl pox in chicks is very serious, since the scabs can be around eyes and nostrils, and can prevent them from seeing food & water, and breathing. Here are some pox pictures:
