Help!! What is wrong with my flock?! Pox, warts on feet and legs…

My flock has been molting and I didn’t think anything of the reduction in egg production. I noticed pink mottle marks in their legs but thought it was from losing color or possibly digging too deep in the run and scraping the hardware cloth.

Then the pox started, they looked like peck wounds but now it’s severe. There are feathers everywhere. They don’t act off, they are foraging and fast no respiratory issues that I can see.

We have had a huge amount of morning doves in our yard over the last month and I’m so worried they were exposed to something serious that will require culling. I’m posting pictures as soon as I can take them. Please help!! We just had a hurricane and all the vets have been closed and I don’t want to take a hen in if it risks infecting other animals. I have kids and dogs and don’t want them exposed either. I’m very concerned and need some expert advice please, thank you so much!!!

Pictures would help immensely. Do you have red/fire ants? Possibly ant bites, they tend to come out in large numbers after a lot of water has been in/on the ground.

I am not entirely sure if fowl pox can affect their legs, could it be mites or insect bites? In any case, if it were dry fowl pox there'd be no point in taking them to the vet anyways as fowl pox has no specific treatment other than supportive care. It'll look ugly for a while, but it'll run it's course in a few weeks, dry fowl pox thankfully isn't serious. We can give you a more definitive answer once you provide pictures

Also, glad you got through the hurricane all right! Hopefully you have no serious damage to your property

The chickens had gotten them under control but I did see ants in the coop around the flock block we put in for the storm so they didn’t have to go out in the run to eat. I didn’t know ants could bite their legs through the scales
