help what should i do

i just had 2 chicks hatch yesterday but i got up and looked at them today and one had died so i took it away from the hen and put it under the heat lamp, i think the chick died because it was not eating so what do i do so that this one does not die!!!

If it just hatched yesterday it probably didn't starve because they can live off of there yolk for quite a while. Maybe it was just weak and didn't make it.

Chicks can live for 2-3 days without eating or drinking. If your chick died, there was likely something wrong with it. You might consider giving the chick back to the hen to raise, or you will need to get it another chick as a companion. Good luck.
