Help!!! What state has restrictions on shipping live birds ?????

up until this past winter I always shipped to whatever state I wanted with no hassles. Then a shipment to Ohio got help up in quaentine!!! for 4 days with no explanation. the birds almost did not make it and would not have if the buyer was not so quick to treat when they arrived almost dead.

Anyway after that I was told by the PO I could ship to any state but Ohio. I have NO idea why perhaps it is because I am not certified npip

I think you will find that any state Department of Agriculture is required to supply you with a copy of the requirements. Google state department of ag or the equivilant or the state veterinarian. If you get nowhere USDA APHIS can steer you in the right direction.
The biggest concern in the very protective states is Avian Influenza. California is very sensative to END. Vigilance against MG is like guarding the state borders from invasion by earthworms and sparrows.

I think requiring NPIP is a pretty common requirement with states. Some states require more. Most states have the import requirements for shipping into the state on a web site, that you can google. I know our state Department of Agriculture does.
