HELP! What's wrong with her?

Can you tell us if her bottom has a prolapsed vent or just looks dark and messy? The skin appears darkened. Is her lower belly enlarged compared to the others? I would try to get her cleaned up, but she would need to be brought inside where it was warm for that.is she laying eggs now, or has she stopped?

I cleaned her up, here's a pic of her bottom after it was cleaned. Her belly maybe feels a little swollen but it's hard for me to tell. I don't know if she's laying eggs, I have 12 chickens and the production has really slowed lately due to the cold and lack of daylight. She seems pretty traumatized from the cleaning!

I'm concerned about one of my girls, she's a white leghorn, just over a year old...I went out to feed today and her comb is floppy and not as red. Also, her butt does not look good (see pics). She also seems to be walking more slowly,

Her belly maybe feels a little swollen but it's hard for me to tell. I don't know if she's laying eggs, I have 12 chickens and the production has really slowed lately due to the cold and lack of daylight. She seems pretty traumatized from the cleaning!

Can you take her inside and dry her really well - use a hair dryer. With your temps at 9F, just towel drying is not going to be enough.

Is she your only white egg layer, in the photo I see brown egg layers. It would be really good to know if she's been laying eggs.
With her comb flopped over and her stance I would suspect she may be having some reproductive issues.
Have they gone without water. What do you feed?
I would see if she will drink some water. Give her some calcium and a direct dose of poultry vitamins if you have them. Has she pooped since you bathed her? It may be worth feeling inside her vet about 1" for an egg.

If her belly feels a bit swollen, she may be having some reproductive problems. Hard to know, but hopefully with hydration and some TLC she will perk up.

Thanks so much for replying so quickly, I appreciate it! I dried her with a blow dryer after this photo as well as I could. They've had water, are on a layer feed, and I feed them their own eggshells. They also have access to oyster shells. I have only one other white layer, I'll try to keep an eye on her to see if she's laying. Thank you!
