Hi everyone. Hoping someone can help me. One of my baby's has developed an infection of some sort on one of her eyes and beak. What could it be? My other 3 girls are completely fine. Should I be taking her to a vet? I only noticed it yesterday. Help! Thank you

I can't tell much from the two top pictures which are a little out of focus. More clear pictures might help. Is her nostril open on that side, or is it blocked? Do you think it is a growth? How does the eye look--is there swelling around it, or is there drainage or pus? Does she have any sneezing orother symptoms?

I know sorry my phone camera is crap. Yes it looks like a growth but I don't think it's blocking her nostril. Her eyes are weeping with a clear and bubbly substance. I cleaned her up with some warm salty water last night and this morning it was weeping again so I've cleaned it up with some salty water. I've separated her from my other girls and she seems to be eating and drinking ok. Any ideas?

Check inside her eye for any foreign material such as dirt or a seed. Rinse it with saline, and get some Terramycin ointment from the feed store and use twice a day. Is she sneezing or having noisy breathing? Her eye could be a sign of a respiratory infection, an eye infection, or a peck wound. MG or mycoplasma can cause a bubbly runny eye with crusts and swelling around the eye. Tylan 50 injectable given orally (1 ml for a 5 pound chicken twice a day for 5 days) may treat that but it is a chronic disease that makes carriers of the flock.

Oh and no, she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms either. She's been chirping away this morning like she usually does too so she doesn't seem to be in pain. I feel like it's an infection of some sort but I just don't know what to do or how to treat it

I would use the Terramycin ointment in it twice a day. You will have to ask for it at most feed stores. It is oxytetracycline, an antibiotic.

I picked up some antibiotic at my local produce store yesterday so hopefully that helps. Thank you so very much

I can't tell if she's getting better or worse. The infection started in 1 eye but now it seems to be in both and this morning it's also a bit smelly

I still have her separated from my other girls and started her on the antibiotics which I'll post a picture of too. How long until I should start seeing some improvement do you think?
