Help! White egg!

Same thing happened to me today.... must be the lovely weather we are having.. mine just plopped hers out in the middle of the pen and called all her friends over to see it.....

No, I gather it's pretty normal. It happens to us sometimes too, as long as it's just a one off thing there shouldn't be any problems. :)

No...how old are your birds? Are some just coming into lay? Maybe one of your chickens just layed her first egg and is actuallly a white eg layer. Do some of your chickens have white earlobes? It may just be an older chicken running out or having a temporary shortage of pigment. It should be fine though.

My year old Wyandotte did this.
She was just starting to pick up production from the winter break, and I found a white egg(I know it was hers by the shape, I only have three hens and I know the shape of each egg) under the roost. I think it popped out unexpectedly in the middle of the night before the pigment could be applied. She laid one egg since then, and promptly started to molt. Ive not gotten an egg out of her in three weeks....

  2. High stress in the flock - Most likely cause in our case. Very heavy Rain/Hail for the past few days. They have been Cooped up.
