So no matter what I try My meat birds wont stop eating the shavings. Ive got them right now on paper towel blocking the shavings but yet they seem to keep finding a way to pull the towel from the shavings and start eating the shavings. Ive heard that shavings can cause crop impaction and pasty but. This is my first attempt at meat birds and Dont want to loose them. Ive heard that thier is a 10% mortality is this a must? Ive never lost a baby chick yet and have raised four diferent hatches of egg layers. Now Im trying White Rock meats and White Turkeys.
Should I be worried about the shaving eating? I move the birds from the shavings to a feeed troft that seems to have less attention thinking maybe thier looking for food but they just seem to cirlce back to the shavings.
