HELP!!!!!!! why arent my hen broody

    hey evryone i was wondering when my hen will brood is spring and i have had a few false alarms for example my hen bit me while on the nest and today she was screeching like a broody and plucked out feathers feathers and layed them on the eggs and it looked like she was brodin she laid her egg and went off to her business btw she is a white cross speckled sussex. and i have a 2 yr old australorp and the rest are factory hen 1 isa brown, 2 red sexlink and one mystery hen hat is geneticly prediposed to lay double yolks. sos help me plz tell me how to help her brood and if my australorp will brood she brooded before but the previous owners made her get up after 3 days

    mmmm..A little hard to understand all that you typed but I can tell you you cannot make a chicken go broody. If they are they are. My hens will gather bedding or whatever is around them while in their nesting boxes. They are just getting comfy for laying their egg....It's not unusual to find them with bedding all over their backs while prepping for their egg to be lid...They are just getting comfy:) If they are broody they will stay in their boxes period...only coming out to eat and drink and right back on their nests.
