My ducklings are about four weeks old now and it seems like all they do is sleep. I let them out for exercise and they goto sleep somewwhere. Is this normal? Im new to duck raising and hope I'm not doing anything wrong. What should theoor diet be and I'm gonna give them vitamins. They are growing but i hope they are healthy. Does anybody have any ideas on if they are healthy or what I should be doing? Thank you

PLEASE someone help or direct me to someone who can LUCKY DUCKIE THANKS YOU

Sorry, but what is pea soup?

Just peas, or are there other things added?

No expert, but if the only thing you have been feeding them is pea soup, I would not be surprised if they are missing out on many different nutritional requirements.

Chick starter with brewer's yeast added should be a staple, with treats added in small amounts.

Good place to start, specifically the sections on feed and brewer's yeast:

Get yourself to the feed store and pick up a bag of chick starter or flock raiser.
Then get some brewers yeast or niacin (in the vitamin section, you don't want fast release).

but start with some feed meant for the little ones.

Proper chick food is important so they grow up healthy and strong.

If no one can take you to the feed store today, I'd try baking or boiling some potatoes and mashing them or cutting them into small bits. It's important that the potatoes are cooked.

After they're mashed, you can splash a little buttermilk or plain unsweetened yogurt in it to moisten the potato.

They should gobble that right up and give them some nutrients that they may be missing from the pea soup.

Thank you for all your help. Duckie is running around with Luckie all over the place. Duckie still gets tired easy but is acting a lot better. I got the chick starter and the other things you guys said. They truly are Luckie Duckie.
