HELP!! Wild Canada Goose nest!

Ah, I'm sorry. I just misunderstood. I thought it was a sarcastic "fabulous" :p
Thank you for your support though, I've already had quite a few critical and rude remarks and I'm just feeling a bit defensive..
I hope these lil ones hatch, you seem very ready to help them be the Canada's they are suppose to be. We have a pair of Canada's in out mountain river below our home, the last 2 yrs they have nested on a small island which when we get lots of rain floods so they have lost their nest the last 2 yrs from flooding. we were so hoping they would choose a different spot this year, but nope she is sitting down there again same place, already once the water got up to the nest and she stood over them till it receded and since then it has not happened again but everytime they say rain we get nervous, today included. We figure they have probably till end of week to hatch. Alot of folks look at Canad's as nuisance's we see them as something that has just as much a right to be here as the rest of us, and so hope they get their gosling this year. I hope for the best for these you have rescued please let us know. and shared that story to say, I just don't think they can relate to this is not a good place to have a nest or when the nest gets moved they can process what happened to it. when this goose lost her nest they hung around for close to a week before they left they just couldn't figure it out. It was very sad.

I very much appreciate your reply. My only goal here is to save these valuable little lives. I don't think of any animals as pests or nuisance. I don't understand how anyone could.
Hopefully I can at save at least some!

I hope the best for these gosling your trying to save. please keep us updated. I do have good news the Canada's in our river hatched their gosling either last night or this morning 6 of them 3 yrs ago she had 2, so she has out done herself this year. making up for losing them the last 2 yrs. So hopefully we'll get to enjoy these for the summer.

Yay! I'm so happy she had such a good hatch this time. Hopefully I'll get the same results. I'll keep you updated with pictures.
This is them in my now very full incubator. Look at them compared to duck eggs!

They are big aren't they? my Toulouse goose has laid 27 eggs so far and we're still waiting for her to go broody. She has been pretty wishy washy about it so far. she has 7 eggs in her nest now. Looking forward to following along with your hatch. Have the parents left?

Hopefully she goes broody soon. And holy cow! That's a lot of eggs.
The parent geese have left but still come back every now and again. Mostly just hang out in the field nearby, but occasionally go back to the nest. It makes me sad :(

Might take someone coming for more silage to convince them it's over. Too bad they couldn't hang around and take up parenting once the goslings hatch.

Yeah, it would've been nice if they could stick around until they hatch. But it looks like they've taken off for good now, mostly because someone came to get more silage and the tractors scared them away. :/

I'm thinking they'll come back one or 2 more times just to make sure. Bless their hearts and that's probably it for them this year.

I dunno if this makes much difference but Canada geese are resilient nesters. So I'm pretty sure that they will renest somewhere around there. I applaud you for trying to rescue those eggs! It's good to know there's people who will go out of their way to help animals!! I hope they all hatch out healthy for you! And I know they'll be happy! I have some Canada's in the incubator now and some under a broody Canada so I'm full of eggs here too!! Best of luck to you :)
