help with a laying chicken

I have chickens that are around one year of age, one of my chickens has begun staying in one of the nesting boxes, we think she is trying to incubate her eggs, unfortunately we don't have a rooster. Should we just let her stay in the nesting box for days on end or move the egg, move her or both? She is a buff orpington breed.

Jump right in and make yourself at home.
Take the eggs and remove her often. Putting her in an elevated wire bottom cage with no bedding may help to break her.

Hello and Some good advice and links given here already. If you don’t mind having some chicks you could always buy her some fertile eggs

If you don`t have a wire bottom cage to put her in and won`t really miss her laying eggs for a little while just remove the eggs when she gets up. She will get up and out of there on her own in time.

You can get some locally sourced fertile eggs and swap hers out for ones that can be hatched. She will feel fulfilled (momentarily) as a hen, and you will have some cute chicks
