I acquired this chicken from a lady that takes in chickens that can no longer be cared for in addition to raising her own flocks. She usually gives one of her "take-ins" to customers that buy several birds from her as a freebie (I got 3 EEs from her). She knows nothing of her history- she's had the chicken about a month, seems healthy, looks healthy, very sweet, guessing her to be 3-6 months old. She looks like a gold laced Wyandotte to me which I only know to be heavier breeds. First of all, does it look like a female? It's small, like my 9 week old EE pullets are the same size. Could she be a bantam possibly? Also, she looks to be missing her comb, but maybe this is a normal comb at this stage for a Wyandotte? A little help with any expertise on this breed would be helpful! Thanks!!

Agreed! Pullet and normal comb for the age. I would guess she’s less than 3 months old.

Here is a pic of my GLW at 12 weeks for reference. She is my most independent and friendliest lady.

Goldie is a cutie! I can't wait to see how I like this breed, she seems so sweet! Thanks for your help!

She's the same size as my 9/10 week old EE pullets so that sounds right! Thanks!
