My last batch of roosters tasted weird. They were fed turkey grower their whole life. But they had an odd..I would call it earthy taste to them. It wasn't covered by flavoring, it was that strong and unpleasant. Nothing like the batch we butchered last summer which was sweet and almost turkey-like. The only difference was that the bad-tasting ones were free ranged and had access to grasses. Would that do it? How can I feed these ones for sweeter meat, and how soon before butcher to make a difference in taste?
