Hi all,

I was getting ready to head out for a few hours this evening and checked on our flock. We have 22 big girls and 4 (4 week old baby Silkies)... I noticed one of our black australorps laying funny in the hay portion of run. She is a about 1year, 1 month old. She was fine this morning. When I got closer to Elsa, I noticed she had her head down and couldn't stand up. I brought her into the coop for inspection:

- Her eyes want to close
- She has labored breathing
- She's unable to stand
- Her feet are starting to curl underneath her
- She seems to have her mouth slightly open but not panting
- Her vent is clear and clean
- She seems to have no bugs on her
- Her crop feels empty

I gave a drop of Nutri-drench, tried to offer some water (she didn't take it)

Right now, She is laying in a small dog kennel in the coop away from the others.

I would greatly appreciate advice and prayers.

Other than for a impacted, sour, pendulous (all in succession with this gal back around September of last year), we have been happy and healthy here.

Thank you! It is so sad, I think I'm gonna prepare to bring her in the kitchen for the night. I can keep a closer eye this way. Hoping our 3 little hounds won't make a huge fuss over it :(
Of course. Where is she now?

i would really force that nutri-drench in her, its your best chance. keep her hydrated too. i will make sure to pray for her and her recovery.

I will certainly be praying for your sweet Elsa and for you as you care for her.

In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." (Job 12:10)

Thank you for that reference. I know 100% that our LORD is in control. I am so thankful she didn't suffer long that I know of right now. Everyone seemed fine earlier today, it just seems so puzzling to my human brain.
