Help with Bourbon Red Turkey

Hello,
I have a Bourbon Red Turkey hen. She lost her tom so now all she has are the chickens and ducks for friends. I was thinking about maybe selling her. How much should I ask for her, does anyone know? She is just over a year old.

It really depends on your are what the prices are. I have seen other members here on BYC get much higher prices than we do here in NC. Here alot of people raise turkeys so they are pretty common. You can try your local craigs list and see if any are in there for sale and base your price on them.

Thanks Steve, that was the first thing I done was check craigslist. I didn't find any on there so I then came here to see what BYCers thought. I have no idea. We don't want another tom because he got very mean. Now she is getting an attitude also. I don't know what else to do.

She has been living in the pen with my pekins but that's not working anymore either. They kind of think of her as mama but she started getting an attitude last week with them. Then this morning she went after my grandson. So I have to figure out something to do with her.

Around here they go in the $25 to $30 dollar range for adults if that helps any.

I was thinking around $30 at least. Like my husband says, "You'll never get more than you're asking."

You can always lower your price if you don't have any bites!

I sold me 2 month royal palms for 10 bucks, but since she is grown I would ask for at least $30. lower the price is always an option

My local CL had a trio listed for $40... i would've gotten them, but it turns out I'm afraid of turkeys!

I just got back form a sale today. Turkeys went for $50. Thats pretty good for a sale.
