help with breeding easter egger sex links!! [pic]

He looks like he has dominant white, so if you breed him to barred hens you will get half sexlinks. Breeding him you red hens would not result in sexlinks.

He will not give you sex links unless you breed him to Barred hens. He's not silver, he's "golden" (gold and silver) so that is the only sex-link option.

When it comes to silver vs gold in Sex-Links, the FEMALE must be the silver one.

Because he has one copy of dominant white half of his offspring will inherit it. The ones that do will be be white will black spots. The other half of the chicks will look like normal black sexlinks. The white males will still have one copy of barring. Both the white and black females with lack barring.

ok so let me get this right... he is golden and if I breed him to a BR hen they will throw like out of 24 12 will be sex links? also how can I tell the difference when it comes down to it. sorry i just really want to know what im doing when i do this!

No because Easter Eggers are mutt chickens. The linked showed which chickens to use to produce both red and black sex links those are the types that are needed to breed sex links since the rooster is not a true silver or gold he is a mutt. You would need to get the type of chickens and use those to make sex links.

Cross him to a Barred Rock and ALL will be sex-linked. 50% chance of them may be hard to sex with the white, but you'll still notice it. Barred males w/white will have some very faint barring on them and a lot of color leakage from the EE father. Females will be solid white, no apparent ghostly looking barring, maybe some color leakage.
