Help with Brinesea Incubator

no.... since the first batch died because I had to much water in there I have been afraid to put much of anything in the tray..   I put a cap full of water in one side of the water holder every other day..  I am afraid to over do it and have the same thing happen again...  :/

I just checked the eggs and one has some brown sappy stuff on it.. not a lot just a little does that mean something is wrong?     sorry to attack you with so many questions..  I am just worried about the babies..

Is the egg leaking/oozing? Is the shell cracked at all?

No probs with all questions, that why we are all here :hugs

the egg is not cracked in any way that I can see... it is almost like it has drops of sap on the small end of the egg... it is kinda funny.

Can you post a pic? Sometimes they can leak and you don't want a rotten egg exploding in the incubator :sick

Does the incubator smell ok? Need to find out if this is a bad egg.

I think you are right I candled it again and there is something inside but it is just turning around inside as I move the egg...

just today.. it was not there yesterday.... the eggs have 14 days left till hatch

and the only movement I could see was as I turned the egg.. it moved with me like it was floating..

Oh crumbs I thought you were on day 14 not 14 days to hatch
When I read "days 14" in your first post I thought it meant you were 14 days in to incubation but I bet that's the count down on the advance mini!!

Does it look different to your other eggs? Can you see development in your others? If that were my egg I would be removing it from the incubator with it oozing like that.

ah.. yes .. sorry for the confusion.. I was going off of the countdown days on the machine... and yes all the other eggs are kicking around like crazy.. my kids like watching them.. they already named a few which is probably not the best idea since I don't have a good hatch rate yet... :/

and yes it does look like it might be gone.. I am going to remove it from the incubator.. poor baby.. :(

From what you have described compared to your other eggs I would say that it maybe never even stared developing :( If you could see something that was moving around as you candled that was more than likely the yolk. With the oozing too that was not a good sign so it is best that you have removed it.

Good luck and keep us posted :highfive:
