I have not had ducks very long so I need some advice.

One of the females has become Broody and this morning has began to sit on the nest. For the past few days I've just been removing some of the eggs so she will not abandon that nest and start a new one in a better hiding place..... Since she has not left the nest, I'm thinking she is done laying and now wants to hatch them.

Since I am new to ducks, I do not think I am ready to have babies running around my yard.

I'd like to remove all the eggs, If I do, will she start laying again (in a new spot)?

What should I do? Let her set the nest for a while or remove them all ASAP?

Thanks all!

i would put her in a cage with plenty of food and water for a few day with no straw or anything so she has to ssit on the cold ground, that should put her off being broody so remove the eggs and put her seprate and she should stop being broody, then start laying again.

but it might take awhile for her to start laying again and when u let her out of the cage she might go broody again but deffintly take the eggs away if you dont want babies !!! hope this helps
