So frustrated. I've waited for a month and a half to get and finally install my chicken guard automatic opener. I designed my guillotine door to be on the inside specifically so a predator couldn't open the door and it looks cleaner/nicer to me. But, with all the pulleys to make it work, I think it has created too much tension for the chicken guard motor - it only goes up or down a couple inches :\ Any work around a without having to change my door?

Is there any way to tie the cable to the end of a lever? Hinge the lever in the middle and tie the other end to the door. It should give you more lifting power.

I don't know much about your set up, but could you mount an old hinge to the ceiling as a fulcrum and attach the lever to it, having one end of the lever over the door opener and the other end over the door? The longer the lever is on the door opener side, of course, will give you more lifting power, but may result in your door not coming up far enough.
