I have a beautiful dom. chicken. not sure roo or hen but the chicken acts like its to heavy for it feet. when it stands a while it will sit un it heels well the joint on the leg and stick its feet out. I have never seen this before. sometimes it acts Luke it don't have good ballence (spelling ? ) I don't know what to do no other symtoms. any ideas.
I think he's getting worse. it just seems so hard for him to stand a while.

Have you looked at the feet. Something like bumble foot will cause swelling and discomfort, this may be a reason why the chicken is spending more time laying down.

yes I check all there feet once a week nothing that I seen. The thing that get me is its almost like this chicken is dizzy. I have got him/her seperated because I don't know if it could be a sickness. has water poo but its like 90' here so I was sure it was cause the chicken was hot ? I am lost but if it could be a sickness I need to cull because I don't want it to spread. I will take a really good look at the feet tomorrow but I don't see anything and no swelling. Anything elts ?

ble to help
you.
1) What type of bird , age and weight. dom about 4 mo. old
2) What is the behavior, exactly. bird sits on its bend of the leg won't stand for long and seems dizzy.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting
symptoms? a couple of days
4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones
or other sign of trauma. not that I can find.
5) What happened, if anything that you know of,
that may have caused the situation. nothing that I can figure out.
6) What has the bird been eating and drinking,
if at all. yes eats and drinks and then sits on legs.
7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody?
Runny? etc. runny but its really hot here few chuncks in it.
8) What has been the treatment you have
administered so far? clean water food and moved by itself.
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For
example, do you want to treat completely
yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the
bird til you can get to a vet? can not afford a vet and no one near me sees chickens that I know of.
10) If you have a picture of the wound or
condition, please post it. It may help. I can get one in the am if needed.
11 bedding hay / a few shavings around the edge of the run.

ok I had the chicken by itself and the cage has a wire bottom so when I went out today and looked at his feet his little toe in the back is split pretty bad on both feet. Now I don't know if its the cage or if this is the problem. I am going to put neo. on them and wrap with vet wrap when my dd gets home from school to help me. I hope this is it I love thus chicken and it looks so pretty. No idea if its a girl or boy. this is my chicken not useung its feet.
