Hey guys!
I got these little chicks as a gift from a friend's backyard flock and was wondering if they're old enough to be sexed yet and find out what breed they are. Also if they're not old enough, how old will they have to be to be able to sex it, thank you!

That’s ok! This is probably the better forum for this question... BTW I don’t have a clue as to what breed, or gender they are, but they are cuties! So with my lack of knowledge firmly established on this I’m going to guess cockerel, pullet, pullet. Again... I really don’t know anything but I will stay tuned for those more knowledgeable to answer this for you (I’m learning to tell the differences... I think?)

Thank you so much for your help! I will keep that in mind.

I wouldn't sex at this age. It is never right. I was able to sex my rooster at 4 weeks old since his comb was already growing. Just wait until they are about 12 weeks old

Yeah, cause at twelve weeks they are VERY clearly one or the other... but who can wait that long wondering? What is the whole point of this forum if all we have to do is wait until they start crowing and mounting each other to figure it out.

It might not be clear yet, but it never hurts to guess... and yes time and age will tell...

So @Jequeese you might need to re-post when they are older, but I’d see what people think now anyway... and it never hurts to speculate. Either way they are cute!
