Help with DE needed, please!

It is definitely not the same, food grade can be grayish looking - you get it at feed stores
Pool grade is what you buy in a regular pool supply store, it is not the kind to use for chickens, it is not digestable

Isn't it useless once it's wet? I'm assuming it would moisten once ingested.

That's correct.
The only USEFUL reason to put DE in feed is to kill insects in the feed itself, and to help keep it dry.
It has no effect on internal parasites

OK thanks Bear. I'm assuming this would be for people whom keep their feed outside? So far we keep all the feed and suplies in the house so I have not encountered this problem as of yet.

Food grade diatomaceous earth can be used for internal parasite control in all animals including humans. Great for mite and fly control. We put it in the chicken feed for worms and it cuts down on fly larvae in the poop. Want to not worry about mites or worms, just add it whenever you add feed to your feeder, sprinkle some on the floors and in the run. Sprinkle it under your roost to keep the smell down and it will help keep the floor dry. I know people who ingest 1 oz per day in water for internal parasites and have seen their hair grow back in bald spots, no longer experience joint pain , also their colesterol has been lowered .
Again be sure its food grage DE...
