a large shipping crate. I have a 5'x5'x9' shipping crate that I'd like to turn into a winter coop to put in my garage. I have been looking at other designs but none of them seem to fit to my situation. I want to raise it from the ground but what do I use that will support all of that weight? cinder blocks? a huge 4x4 frame? I also need to make it as easily accessible for cleaning as possible- do you think a door in the middle third will be adequate? Any creative suggestions are appreciated. [IMG]

I think that cinder blocks or bricks will work well. That way, you can easily disassemble and store it when the warm weather arrives. I think that you're on the right track for sure. I would love to see pics of what you're working with too!
