Got home from work and found my first lash egg. I immediately ran to TSC. They were out of Tylan but I was able to pick up a broad spectrum antibiotic called Duramycin 72-200. It's injectable though. I'm not sure where to inject it, for how long to treat or who to treat and how much. The box says an animal weight of 10lbs does .5 cc. Please help so I can start treating!!!! @Eggcessive @Kiki anybody!!!

I felt everyone's abdomen and all feels normal. No lethargy or anything. Just this gross lash egg. We'd like to just dose the water since we dont know who did it

@casportpony do you know the dosage? You may want to try to get Baytril.
I checked. We could not got Baytril. Tylan was sold out or they are pulling it from the shelf. We would like to administer in the water if possible. I'm not squeamish with needles but since we have 8 birds and we don't know who is having the issue we would have to do all of them.

Edit: Duramyacin is oxytetracyline

Dosage Of oxytetracycline 200 mg per ml is 1/2 ml (0.5 ml) to an adult chicken daily. It can be injected into the breast muscle, or many do give it orally.

You can buy Baytril (Enrofloxacin) here, and dosage is 0.05 ml per pound, or 0.25 ml for a 5 pound chickens daily for 5 days:

It is not approved for poultry, but some vets prescribe it for birds with EYP and salpingitis.

Thanks! How long should we treat for?

One more question please @Eggcessive . How long before we can eat the eggs again? I found this study
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/2015932/
It says "OTC was detected in yolk until 9 days after withdrawal. The depletion period of OTC was shorter for the albumin, where the residue disappeared in all eggs 6 days after withdrawal. " Ive read different things. Some people say 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 30 days...so unsure. The box says 28 days before slaughter on it but that is IM and not oral.
