Hey all I have a chicken who is 3 years old and her bottom is looking pretty dirty. She seems to be missing some of her bottom feathers does anyone have a remedy for this?

We had a hen that had that, always, her whole life. We would use a kitchen scissors to clean her back end every few months, then soak her butt end in a tub of warm weak soapy water and wash the rest off.

I read to try probiotics, but mine were already getting them every other day via fermented grain. She was the only one out of over a dozen hens that got this and we never found out why. She died this spring but was old so it was expected.

If you find no cause for it, keep her back end short so it doesn't stick so bad.

Yeah they have

Like this? Beats me why they don't all have issues honestly!

I hope the probiotics work!
