I don't mind, go for it! That sounds fun. I'd like to hear what kinds of treats and supplements people give their flocks, too.
I always feel kind of guilty that they get feed pellets and only have empty desert dirt to scratch in 99% of the year with no plants and very few bugs to eat. Every day they get dried grubs and 3 grain scratch and two pecking toys that dispense grower mash, to try to make up for that empty desert. We supplement that with whatever I post here so they also get fresh food, especially vegetables and fruits.
Haha! I have friends who dump wheelbarrows of dried poop from their horses into their chicken coops. The chickens loooooove scratching through it and once it's broken down makes for a very nice soft ground in their coop, easy to rake.Have the same issue here in the winter. Heads of cabbage, carrots, bok choy, sweet peppers, squash. I try to give them something everyday that is fresh. They do enjoy picking through the horses’ stalls also. Yummy mmmm horse poop!
Right now it is 45 degrees.
Tomorrow it is supposed to be -1.
Now everything is going to turn to ice
