On March 11th I picked out 4 plymouth partridge rock day olds and 4 splash blue laced red wyandottes. I used the feather sexing method and was sure I would end up with 8 hens. Boy was I wrong. Apparently you can't feather sex all breeds.

I think I only have one ppr pullet and I know I have one blrw cockerel and one blrw pullet. Two of the blrw I can't tell the sex and I could be wrong on the ones I thought I knew. Anyway her are some pictures and I'm wondering if you all can help me figure out what I have on my hands. They will be 5 weeks old on the 15th. These pics were taken today.

#1 cockerel for sure?

So were you thinking about giving up your Day Job to become a professional chick sexer? ? ?

I think you should stay with the day job - - - the pullet count is not looking good

The good news is you have some good looking roos - - -

Perhaps it will be easier to find new homes for them - - I would take a partridge rock roo if I could find a pullet to go with it .

Yeah, I thought I would apply at a hatchery picking the packing peanuts. I'm great at picking roo's. I should have picked chicks like that game kids like to play at pizza places with the claw they line up and lower hoping to get a stuffed toy. I would have had better luck. You wouldn't believe how careful I was to pick only pullets. Well I was planning on keeping one of the roo's. Just hope I can find good homes for the rest.
