I currently have 3 males and 4 females, males are making the mating call I believe ones mated already, how can I get them to lay soon I can't wait to do my first batch of eggs in the incubator!

ive found that seperating them, helps alot, i had 5 quail, 1 was male, they laid 4-5 eggs a day, then i went to 40 quail, still only 4-5 eggs a day. so i made sections in the pen, put 1 male and 4 females in each section, in 1 week i was gettin 20 eggs a day (food is a 17 % layer crumb)

I'll try that out thanks

results showed for me in 4 days, and no problem

Maybe remove some of the males. I would suggest you have one male to four females . ! hope this helps. Also make sure you look very carefully for the eggs. My youngsters lay in the strangest of places !!

How often would they go broody ? Mine had being laying since February this year, but no eh as being interested in hatching. I reall wanted them to reproduce so I can have some for meat as well. I only have 4 ..one male 3 girls

HowieNZ is correct it is very rare for coturnix quail to incubate their own eggs. I think the incubator is easier. GOOD LUCK!!!

I got just one girl for the last 2 weeks loosing all her feathers, if I grab her feathers comes out too. What's wrong?

my button quail are the same, was thinking it was probably a stress thing?
