My guinea hen laid her clutch of eggs in a wooded area near our home. Things were moving along nicely. On or about the 26th day of her diligence a predator got her and all her eggs or keets (not sure if they had hatched yet). My husband and I were devastated being new owners. Prior to this catastrophe, I had removed two eggs. I now am on day 28 and here peeping from at least one of the eggs. I’d really like to do the right thing and at least get one of her keets. Don’t think I want to handle the loss. What can I do to insure success? Temp. 99.5. Humidity 61%. I did pick up the egg to listen. Does that matter? I would like any advice. Let me know if there is a chance of this working and what to expect if it doesn’t. Thank you so much

Just saw your post. I know it’s been a few days but wondering if any Of your guinea eggs have hatched? Have you candled any to be sure that they are alive? When I first got my guineas, I lost a few hens and nests that I couldn’t find. After that, I got good at finding the nests and always moved them because their chances of making it through the full hatch time exposed to predators were pretty slim. I also got fairly successful at moving the nests and hens to a safe spot. I can let you know the process if you have another situation where you have a hen outside on a nest. As for your 2 current eggs, if they are still alive they should be hatching soon if they haven’t already. It sounds like your doing the right things, but here are a couple of articles about hatching FYI:
