Help with hatching Call Duck eggs - internally pipped 28+hrs

No, they were cold and no movement so I took a peak... they were all covering their air hole and were already dead. Should I have gone ahead and made another air hole earlier? Were they cold because they were dead or did mama maybe leave them at some point?
I put this guy in the incubator with siblings after oiling him up...also what temp humidity is best for them now? View attachment 1252787

What probably happened is the thing that happened to me a lot with my first Call hatch - they were ready to zip, turned to try to zip, couldn't zip, and cut off their own air flow. There's no way you could have predicted that, it wasn't your fault. That's why I open mine earlier now than I do other breeds, but with them being under a broody that really wouldn't have been great either. So really you did all you could.

Thanks to all of you for the great info and help as I needed it! I doubt any would have made it without it!
I investigated the ones that passed and they all still had 1/3 of the yolk to absorb, so weren't fully ready to hatch. I guess you learn through experience.... I'm super thrilled to have the 2 already out and hopefully the little guy still in his shell makes it too.
Just a few more questions...how long do the hatched ones stay in the incubator before going tho a brooder? And is the one still in his shell ok or should i put him in a cup so he doesn't accidentally push out before his yolk is absorbed? Also do i reapply coconut oil?

You can put the hatched ones in the brooder anytime... reapply coconut oil as needed, it will dry and stick but it won't shrink.... and it peels off easier if it does stick once it's out... no need for a cup unless it makes you feel better, it will wait til it is ready... whatever you do, *do not* pull it out of the shell, if it isn't ready it can bleed out very, very quickly, just fyi...

Ok, so the one guy left in his shell has been moving a lot and lifting his bill upward. I think there are still small blood vessels on his membrane, but he's quite active...
How do I know if he's trying to get out vs just moving? Should his shell be in a certain position to help him when he's ready?
How do I know for sure when his blood vessels are absorbed?
Should he be in a certain position inside the shell? Looks like one foot is above his head and the other is under his chin. .
I figured I would ask now before it's the middle of the night and everyone is sleeping ;)

Lifting bill or yawning motions means still absorbing... when they're ready, the struggling to get out is quite noticeable...

Btw, both Pyxis and I tend to run late night, j/s... :D
