I am in need of a new place to live. I CAN stay here if I want, but it will not be too happy. I have been searching on the internet and newspapers and there is nothing in the country. The internet just puts me into no noonsense circles. The newspaper I get is a CITY newspaper and does not cover the surrounding areas. Other than drive all over for a chance sighting I dont know what else to do. Please help me if you can with any suggestions. Thank You

Well, usually realtors sell the expensive places and I am not looking for an expensive place. I am looking to rent or rent to own or some such thing. :| I have heard of many people doing this but,,,,,,,,,,,

in our area we use realtor.com and you can select the area and price range you are interested in. You can also filter for the type of house you are looking for.

If'n ya want to come to Ohio my mom is selling her 'other' house which is 2180 sq ft and large yard in nice shape for $60,000 which is WAY below appraisal value.

Good luck in your search.

Realtors will sell any place.
Anyway Realtor.com has all the housing listings. You can find modulars, trailers, land, apartment buildings, farms commercial properties. Anyway, you can look by zip code, state, city, price range, type and everything. Then they all have a renters section, as well. I spend A LOT of time on that sight daydreaming...lol.
Good luck!
Edit...LOL Pullet Pimp posted when I was typing.

I would actually call EVERY real estate agent in your county and perhaps the surrounding counties. They will often manage rental property and you can bet the know all the people who buy and sell rental property. So if they don't have anything to rent, the ought to be able to give you the names on the rental property-owners in the area.

Adding another note that our realtor mentioned to us recently.... because the housing market is so bad right now, many homeowners who have their houses listed are willing to do a rent/rent to own options as well. Check your local classifieds also. Around here we have free little books of home listings that are at most restaurants and gas stations. Also, if you happen to see a For Sale by owner sign outside of a house you may be interested in... give them a call... go check it out. They may just be willing to rent or rent to own? Some people are pretty desperate to get out of their homes.. and sometimes two mortgage payments.

Good luck!
